The company had immediately shut down the suspicious device and started an investigation after news broke in various media on July 11 that the server of Nepal Telecom had been attacked by a hacker group and the company's data records had been stolen and sold.


The company formed an investigation committee led by Pratibha Vaidya to conduct the study. The committee had submitted the report to Hari Prasad Basyal, secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, on Wednesday.


It is claimed that there was no attack based on the findings of the study and investigation of the same committee.


"After a detailed investigation by the company's relevant experts, it has been concluded that no data of the company has been stolen and there is no truth in the claims made in the news," the statement said.


Nepal Telecom has been adopting various security mechanisms to keep the data related to the customers safe. The company is committed to keeping the details of the customers safe in the days to come.
